Acupuncture
is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice that involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points. It is based on the belief that these points lie along energy pathways called meridians, and stimulating them can balance the flow of energy, or Qi (pronounced "chee"), to promote healing and well-being.

How It Works:

  1. Initial Consultation: The practitioner assesses the patient’s health history, symptoms, and goals.
  2. Needle Insertion: Very fine needles are inserted into specific points. The depth and location depend on the condition being treated.
  3. Stimulation: The needles may be gently manipulated or stimulated with heat or mild electrical pulses.
  4. Relaxation: The needles are typically left in place for 15–30 minutes while the patient relaxes.

Benefits of Acupuncture:

  • Pain Management: Effective for chronic pain conditions like back pain, neck pain, and osteoarthritis.
  • Stress Reduction: Balances the nervous system to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation.
  • Improved Sleep: Helps manage insomnia and sleep disturbances.
  • Digestive Health: Addresses issues like nausea, bloating, and indigestion.
  • Women's Health: Used to alleviate menstrual cramps, menopausal symptoms, and support fertility.
  • General Wellness: Enhances overall energy, boosts immunity, and supports emotional health.
